Researcher Development Training Programme

Thinking about your future career beyond your current research contract is vital from day one. Engaging with your development early will help you to make the right career choice based on knowledge of yourself and the sector. It will enhance your CV, help you to be an effective researcher, and give you a competitive edge.

The development opportunities we have designed for Research Staff can be accessed whenever you need support for yourself, your professional effectiveness or your career progression. You may also want to consider signing up for our 1-1 coaching.

We offer training in the following areas:

Teaching for Researchers aims to develop participant understanding and practice of teaching and learning in UK universities. It is delivered by a blend of e-learning content and face-to-face workshops. Assessment includes a written report, evidence of the preparation and delivery of at least 7 hours of teaching, post session reflective reports, an observed microteach session, and successful completion of the online Diversity in the Workplace module. The course is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and runs once annually.

The 2017 Teaching for Researchers Programme is currently in session.
