Seeking academics & their PhD alumni for careers event for researchers 2012

Pathways: Career Options for PhD Researchers and Research Staff - Friday 8 June 2012, University Place

A chance for early career researchers to meet and learn from PhD qualified professionals from a wide variety of sectors, roles and organisations. Participants can choose to attend 5 from 40 available expert panel sessions. We typically have 400+ PhD researchers and Post-docs attend this event from across the university (and other participating North West HEIs). Read all about the event here.

ACADEMICS IN EPS WE NEED YOUR HELP

From across EPS we are looking for 15-20 academics and 15–20 alumni from different sectors (public and private) who gained a PhD in the last 10 - 15 years (not necessarily from Manchester) to participate in this event.

Send us contact details of your former PhDs and Post-docs who you think we could contact and ask to return to Manchester to participate in one of the panel sessions and share their career stories. It makes a real difference to our early career researchers to hear from people who have been in their position.

Note you can also volunteer yourself as a panel member.

Panel sessions run in 40 minute slots, throughout the day and panellists can come for all or part of the day:

  • Morning: 11am – 11.45am or 12noon – 12.45pm
  • Afternoon: 2pm – 2.45pm or 3pm – 3.45pm

Travel expenses will be paid and lunch will be provided for all participating alumni.
